Lore & Background

The faction began after Senku reached Ishigami Village and allied with its inhabitants, not when Senku and Taiju revived Tsukasa Shishio and Yuzuriha Ogawa. Tsukasa opposed their goal, believing the old world was tainted and establishing his own Empire of Might to destroy petrified adults. After escaping a near-fatal encounter with Tsukasa, Senku allied with an existing tribe in Ishigami Village. He learned that his adoptive father, Byakuya, was one of six astronauts on the International Space Station who survived the initial petrification event roughly 3,700 years prior (canonically referred to as 3,700 years in dialogue, despite calendar math suggesting 3,719). Together with new allies like Chrome and Kohaku, they defeated Tsukasa's forces. Later, they conquered a Petrification Kingdom island to find platinum for mass-producing revival fluid. The Kingdom of Science established bases on several continents, but not every continent, to gather materials for their moon rocket and broader civilization rebuilding.

In Their Own Story

Senku Ishigami revived himself in April 5738, six months after Taiju Oki woke up. Using nitric acid, they created a compound to revive others, starting with Tsukasa Shishio and Yuzuriha Ogawa. When Tsukasa turned against them, Senku regrouped with a local tribe, eventually forming the Kingdom of Science. They defeated the Tsukasa Empire, discovered Byakuya's legacy on an island inhabited by the Petrification Kingdom, and took Dr. Xeno and Stanley Snyder as allies or captives to build a rocket. After a second worldwide petrification wave left only Suika alive, she revived her friends seven years later. The group then built a rocket to travel to the moon.

The Kingdom of Science operates from Ishigami Village, which was founded by Byakuya and five other astronauts who were unaffected by the first petrification event while in space. Their strategy involves reviving people using nitric acid-based fluid and utilizing local resources to create technology like radios and rockets. Key allies include Taiju Oki, Yuzuriha Ogawa, Tsukasa Shishio (initially), Chrome, Kohaku, Ryusui, Suika, Dr. Xeno, Stanley Snyder, and Sai. Their ultimate mission is to build a rocket to the moon to find Why-Man, the mastermind behind the petrification.
