Tsukasa Shishio

The warrior who killed a lion with one punch to protect his sister's memory.

Tsukasa Shishio is a youth who rose to fame in mixed martial arts as 'The Strongest Primate High Schooler,' physically powerful enough to kill a lion with one punch. After being reawakened by Senku to save him and Taiju from a lion pack, Tsukasa wears the pelt of the male lion he killed. He resents adults due to a doctor refusing to treat his comatose sister Mirai, who was already brain-dead and beyond help, leading him to view current adults as corrupt while seeking to create a new society by only reviving young people. Initially serving as the primary antagonist who establishes the 'Empire of Might,' he later accepts a truce with Senku in exchange for the theoretical revival of his sister. After suffering critical injuries and being placed in cryosleep, the Empire of Might effectively dissolved, and the Kingdom of Science absorbed some of his followers. Upon revival, he sides with Senku on their trip to the United States of America.

Lore & Background

Tsukasa was revived by Senku shortly after awakening in the Stone World. He founded the Empire of Might based on the philosophy that only young people should be revived, rejecting adults he views as avariciously corrupt. His conflict with Senku ended when he accepted a truce to potentially revive his sister Mirai. Following betrayal by Hyoga and critical injuries sustained in battle, Tsukasa entered cryosleep before his sister's revival was confirmed. He only learned of her recovery later. When revived, he joined Senku's expedition to the United States of America.

In Their Own Story

In the Stone World, Tsukasa kills a lion with a single punch and wears its pelt. He leads the Empire of Might against Senku's Kingdom of Science until Hyoga betrays him during a truce negotiation. Severely injured in the subsequent fight, he is placed in cryosleep while his sister Mirai is healed. Years later, after being revived from stasis, he accompanies Senku on a voyage to America.

Reader's Guide

Frequently Asked Questions

Who is Tsukasa Shishio?

Tsukasa Shishio is a former mixed martial arts prodigy known as the 'Strongest Primate High Schooler' who possesses enough physical strength to kill a lion with a single punch. After being petrified and later reawakened by Senku, he initially becomes a major antagonist before eventually aligning with the Kingdom of Science.

What motivates Tsukasa's desire to create a new society?

His worldview is shaped by a traumatic past where an adult doctor refused to treat his brain-dead sister, Mirai, leading him to believe that adults are corrupt and unworthy of revival. Consequently, he seeks to build a utopia populated exclusively by young people who have not been tainted by the old world.

What weapons or abilities does Tsukasa possess?

Tsukasa relies entirely on his overwhelming hand-to-hand combat skills rather than tools or technology, making him one of the few characters capable of defeating large predators unarmed. He famously wears the pelt of a male lion he killed as attire to honor his sister's memory and symbolize his strength.

How does Tsukasa Shishio's story conclude?

After clashing with Senku and Taiju, Tsukasa realizes that his vision for a youth-only society is flawed and ultimately joins forces with the Kingdom of Science. He survives the final conflicts alive, continuing to serve as a powerful warrior ally who protects the new civilization.

Why is Tsukasa considered important in the Dr. Stone lore?

He serves as the primary physical counterbalance to Senku's intellect, representing the raw strength required to survive and rebuild civilization in a post-apocalyptic world. His journey from antagonist to ally highlights the series' theme that both science and strength are necessary for humanity's restoration.
